What's it all about?

We live in an increasingly digital environment... Computers are more powerful now than they have ever been... Most students have on average three devices with web capabilites...
Blah Blah Blah.
We've all heard this before.
Computers and technology are now part of the college framework, in fact we're very used to walking into a classroom with an interactive whiteboard or beginning a lesson where every student has their own laptop. In fact, we're fortunate enough to be at the cutting edge of technology in the local area in terms of the combination of what the college has provided and what students are choosing to bring into school themselves. Herein lies a fantastic opportunity for us as teachers to drive our students forward and even improve our own pedagogy.
So how do we do it?
There is no simple answer to this question. Sorry. Instead there are multiple routes and journeys to explore. Everybody teaches differently and every students learns differently. Luckily though, there are now an astonishing amount of online tools for teachers and students to use to keep students engaged and challenge them a little bit more.
This website aims to showcase various tools which may interest you or our students. All of them are little gems I have merely stumbled across whilst trawling through the masses on offer; however I am in no way endorsing any particular programs or websites - just presenting them for you to have a look and judge for yourselves.
I will regularly add new ideas and tools to this site. Just click on the tab at the top of the page to find out more.
I'm looking forward to hearing your feedback and, if possible, coming in to your classrooms to watch or help you use some of the tools on offer.
Enjoy!
